Gregory Haendel, CFA

Greg Haendel is a managing director and senior portfolio manager who manages multi-sector investment-grade fixed income portfolios for state and local governments, corporations, healthcare, insurance, Native American tribes, foundations and Tart-Hartley. Greg specializes in intermediate and long duration fixed income across both corporate credit and securitized products and has more than 25 years of investment management experience.

Greg began his career in the investment management industry in 1998. Greg was head of fixed income for HighMark Capital Management, now part of PFMAM, and led a team of portfolio managers, traders and research staff responsible for the management of HighMark’s fixed income separate account business. Prior to HighMark, Greg was a senior portfolio manager and head of investment grade credit for Tortoise Credit Strategies and Bradford & Marzec (acquired by Tortoise in 2016). Prior to joining Bradford & Marzec, he spent the majority of his career at AEGON USA Investment Management and Transamerica Investment Management (an AEGON subsidiary), where he managed a broad range of institutional assets including insurance, mutual fund, Taft-Hartley, pension, foundation and corporate assets across various multi-sector fixed income mandates, including core, core plus, government/corporate, short duration and government strategies. During his tenure at Transamerica, Greg served as both a portfolio manager and a corporate credit analyst.

Greg holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles.
